Val Holwerda’s approach to marketing is simple: “Let’s start with a plain white piece of paper and make something happen!”
This approach echoes Val’s approach to life and business. Through her mentoring, consultancy, workshops, and business connections, Val helps entrepreneurs achieve their potential, transforming their business and the bottom line.
Over the years, she has always been an idea person, a seasoned business executive and a veteran entrepreneur who loves to solve problems.
These days, Val offers her expertise to small business owners. Providing marketing and advertising consultancy, Val’s work centers on the importance of “spending money where it counts.” Marketing 101 focuses on the specific needs of emerging entrepreneurs, as determined by Val’s observations. Her experience is backed by a sincere passion to help small business owners achieve success. This is what drives her.
Early in her career, Val taught marketing and copywriting at USC and UCLA. Currently, she consults with a major educational testing service as well as providing marketing consultancy to her small business clients.
Val finds creative inspiration with Indiana Jones-style vacations; she’s a regular attendee at Burning Man and recently biked over 200 miles down the Danube to Vienna. Her husband of many years has climbed significant mountains – most notably Denali - and piloted commercial airliners. They have three terrific children, all of whom are all following in their parents’ adventure-seeking footsteps.
